Trainee story

Amire has tried everything from skating to gaming to making Youtube videos. One skill he really wanted to explore was baking and cooking. This interest led Amire to intern at Little Bee Bakeshop under mentor Chef Stacie Pierce. At Little Bee Baking, Amire enjoyed not only baking but getting to sample the treats he made! His favorite thing to make from scratch was a bacon pumpkin cake loaf, while his favorite sweet to eat was the almond bread. Amire worked well with Chef Stacie and improved his communication skills as he learned. Under her mentorship, he learned pastry decorating with sprinkles, how to organize and label ingredients in the kitchen, and how to make a variety of dough before turning it into something delicious. Over time, Amire gained confidence in his ability to solve problems without needing to consult Chef Stacie as often. Outside of the bakery, Amire enjoys skateboarding and doing tricks. He also likes playing video games, especially Fortnite and Assetto Corsa, a car-racing game. Amire even records videos of himself playing race car games for his Youtube channel, and says his dream car would be a BMW M4 GT3. Amire is grateful for his internship at Sprouts Chef Training where he had the chance to learn job skills, social skills, and time management. Going forward, cooking is definitely a possible career path for Amire. Whatever his future holds, we at Sprouts hope, like the cars that Amire races in video games, that he gets where he wants to be fast!
