Trainee story

Yobany is a first-generation student whose parents immigrated from Mexico and El Salvador. Both of his parents work as chefs in the Bay Area, inspiring Yobany to cook meals at home and pursue a culinary career. At Yobany's alternative charter school, Life Learning Academy, Yobany enrolled in cooking classes where his teacher recognized his talent and encouraged him to apply to Sprouts Chef Training Program. He is thrilled to train with Chef Perez at the iconic Slanted Door so that he can one day become a chef like his parents. We're rooting for you, Yobany!
