Justin's journey with Sprouts Chef Training embodies a dedicated pursuit of his culinary passion. Justin was inspired to apply to Sprouts because his mother always spoke of owning a restaurant when they spent time cooking together in the kitchen; Justin wanted to take it upon himself to continue his mom’s dreams. Justin's early experiences cooking at home ignited his enthusiasm for culinary arts, particularly his enjoyment of preparing Asian and other international dishes, which became significant milestones in his culinary development. He was able to develop his culinary skills in the Wilbur Stanford kitchen alongside chef Michael Brewster.
Justin’s journey was marked by notable achievements in the kitchen, such as mastering dishes like Chow Mein and brisket. Over time he honed his knife skills and tackled challenges like perfecting the art of cutting fruits and vegetables. By providing the mentorship of professional chefs and the experience working hands-on in an award-winning campus kitchen, Sprouts played a pivotal role in Justin's development, equipping him with essential skills and opportunities to pursue his career dreams. Beyond the kitchen, Justin is attending San Francisco State where he is studying automotive technology and hopes to apply this to a career in mechanical engineering.
